SPRING 2018 JURORS
Interior design, rooted in spaces that are classic, yet clean and modern, Charlotte Barnes’ aesthetic is grounded in a stylistic mélange of luxurious materials — an eclectic mix of the contemporary and antique with attention to detail and a measured restraint. Known for creating elegant, warm and intimate spaces, Charlotte was honored with an Innovation in Design Award and inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame in 2015. Her work has been featured in publications at home and abroad including British House & Garden, Elle Decor, US House & Garden, CT Cottages & Gardens, New England Home and New American Luxury. An early career in fashion, at Ralph Lauren Womenswear in New York and London and Pomellato USA, Charlotte honed her appreciation for interior design and visual decoration while living abroad. When her own London home was published in British House & Garden in 1995, Charlotte Barnes Interior Design & Decoration, LLC was born. Collection Charlotte Barnes, a 30-piece furniture collection, was launched in 2014. From refined city apartments to residential and commercial spaces in England, Spain, Colorado, New York, Connecticut, Florida and The Adirondacks, Charlotte Barnes’ work includes projects in East Hampton, London, New York City, Greenwich, Nantucket, Watch Hill, Newport, Martha’s Vineyard, Palm Beach and John’s Island.

Kiki Dennis is a principal in the firm Deborah Berke Partners, where she leads roughly half of the private residential interiors projects. She began her interior design career at Deborah Berke Partners and rejoined the practice in 2015 after running her own Brooklyn-based firm for 12 years.
With her expertise in color, textiles, and the tactile aspects of design, Kiki’s work has become known for its vigor and visibility, with bold and unexpected bursts of texture, pattern, and color. She has taught color theory and residential interior design at the New York School of Interior Design. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Ithaca College, and studied interior design at Cornell University and the New York School of Interior Design, where she earned her design degree.
Born and raised in Southern California, Bella Mancini moved to NYC in the mid-nineties to pursue a career in fashion PR and marketing. After three years of relentless travel she found herself disenchanted with the field and in a quarter-life career slump. Always a lover of interior design, she enrolled in design courses at NYSID while working as a design assistant at a boutique firm. Two years later she started her own company.
Over the past 18 years she has grown along with her clientele and is committed to the decoration and design of beautiful, stylish homes which are also comfortable, practical and thoughtful. She excels in creating spaces that welcome both the joys and trials of living a full life. At BMD she takes a friendly but highly organized approach to each client’s project. Great communication and systematic project management keep her clients in the know each step of the way, without making them feel overwhelmed. Her client roster is comprised predominately of return business and client referrals, which is a strong testament to both her creative talent and work ethic. Most clients return for their next projects: new residences, vacation homes or just design refreshes. Bella's ultimate goal is to provide exceptional service to each client and deliver them their dream home. She truly loves what she does and wants all of her clients to feel nothing less than thrilled with their experience.
Kathleen Walsh's tailored and serene interiors are the right balance of interesting details, luxury, and the perfect imperfection of things that are made by hand. The New England–raised entrepreneur entered Pratt Institute for fashion but discovered what she really loved was the tactile, three-dimensional qualities of fabric and the transformational qualities of color. Interiors allowed her to combine both with her love of architecture and sculpture. She finished her studies with a BFA in Interior Design and then earned her MBA in Management from Baruch College. Walsh spent a decade working with some of New York's leading designers and architects on residential and commercial projects internationally and throughout the greater New York area before establishing her own firm in 2004. She also created, designed, and managed the production of oona bedding, a customizable line of baby and kids’ bed linens she sold to select high-end boutique stores and interior designers. Her projects include primary and secondary residences in New York City, Brooklyn, Greenwich CT, Westchester and Fairfield Counties, New England, and on Martha’s Vineyard.
